Traffickers are organized in variety of ways. Trafficking in person occurs through small scale informal networks to international well organized industries with tight links to organized international criminal networks. The actors in trafficking chain may know each other. Other times however, the person at the beginning of the chain does not know the one at the end.
Traffickers include:
1. Business people who thrive on the despair of poor vulnerable families. These business men may be Nigerian or Foreigners.
2. Employer who look for cheap labor they can exploit
3. Creators of phoney website and those who advertise women as "brides" to potential buyers from Europe and US and even Nigeria and other Neighboring countries
4. Poor Desperate families who sell their children to recruiters
5. Recruiters who may be family members
6. Persons who themselves have been trafficked
7. Forgers and producers of fake travel documents
8. Transporter who transfer victims from rural to urban centers
9. Brokers
10. Enforcers
11. Brothel owners who are receivers and exploiters of trafficked victims
11. Employment agencies who advertise for non- existent job in Europe and other neighboring countries.
